1. HOW TO ENTER
a. The WPGC and WJFK “Choose Safety for Life” contest will begin at 12:01am EST on August 30, 2008 and end at 9:00am EST on October 31, 2008.
b. To participate in the contest, you may enter via the following method(s): Log on to www.wpgc.com or www.wjfk.com beginning on August 30, 2008 at 12:01am and click the link for the Choose Safety for Life contest. Enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, daytime phone number and a valid email address in the online entry form. Only one internet entry per person and one internet entry per email address is permitted. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email address or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. All entries submitted become the sole property of the WPGC or WJFK (the “Stations”) and will not be acknowledged or returned. For purposes of these Official rules, “receipt” of an online entry occurs when the www.wpgc.com or www.wjfk.com servers record the entry information upon clicking the submit button. Any automated computer receipt (such as one confirming delivery of the e-mail) does not constitute proof of actual receipt by WNKS of an online entry for purposes of these official rules. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited. The Stations’ computers are the official time keeping devices for this Contest. Entries must be received by October 31, 2008.
c. The Stations are not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.
2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
a. The contest is open to all listeners of the Stations who are 18 years of age or older and who reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area in Maryland, Virginia or Washington, DC. Employees of the Stations, their licensees, corporate parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families and/or households are ineligible to participate or win.
b. Listeners may win only once every 30 days on prizes valued at $599 or less and only once every 90 days on prizes valued at $600 or more. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest conducted by the Stations at any time.
c. Winner will be required to sign a liability and publicity release and show his or her government- issued photo identification card to claim prize.
d. Contestants are required to provide truthful information and the Stations will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent. The Stations will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements, and the Stations will also delete any entry received from persons under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
3. PRIZES
a. One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded. The Grand Prize is a trip for two (2) (winner and guest, age 18 or older) to Cancun, Mexico. Trip includes round trip coach air transportation for two (2) from BWI Airport to Cancun, Mexico, and four (4) day / three (3) night standard double occupancy hotel accommodations (one room) (as determined by Sponsor). Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $1,500. Certain travel restrictions may apply. Travel arrangements must be made through Administrator’s agent on a carrier of Administrator’s choice. No prize substitutions, cash equivalent, or transfer of prizes permitted except at the sole discretion of the Stations. Prize subject to availability and the Stations and/or sponsor reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to award a prize of greater or equal value if the advertised prize is unavailable. Trip must be used within six (6) months of receipt. If winner cannot travel on dates specified by the Stations and/or sponsor, winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner selected. All other costs not specifically stated herein, including, but not limited to, taxes, meals, tips and ground transportation, are the responsibility of the winner. Taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner. Winner and travel companion must travel on the same itinerary and are responsible for obtaining all required travel documents (i.e. valid passport). In addition, travel companion of Winner must be 18 years of age or older. Winner may be required to present a valid credit card upon hotel check in to cover any incidental expenses incurred during their stay. Winner and travel companion are responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all other forms of insurance) where applicable, at their option, and hereby acknowledge that the Stations and/or sponsor have not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. Winner and travel companion must sign a Publicity, Liability Waiver and Travel Release form prior to traveling.
b. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of the Stations at the address below. The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within ten (10) days of winning. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. The Stations are is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
c. There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.
4. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
a. Decisions of the Stations’ management with respect to the contest are final.
b. One grand prize winner will be selected on October 31, 2008 at 9:00am EST in a random drawing from all eligible entries received by the entry deadline.
c. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
d. Winner need not listen or be present to win.
e. Winner will be contacted by phone within 10 days at the number provided on their entry blank and by email at the email address provided by contestant. Winner must execute and return any required Affidavit of Eligibility and/or Release of Liability Prize Acceptance Form within ten (10) days of notification attempt or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen by random drawing.
5. CONDITIONS
a. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner’s full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more or for any prizes awarded by the Stations in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more. Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the prize.
b. By participating in the contest, winner and his/her guest agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Stations in their sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the Stations, their corporate licensee, parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. The Stations, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Stations’ websites or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. They further reserve the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
e. The Stations reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.
a. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification solely at the discretion of the Stations.
b. The Stations are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.
c. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WPGC-FM, 4200 Parliament Place Ste 300, Lanham, MD 20706.
6. INTERNET SWEEPSTAKES PRIVACY POLICY
A. By use of the Stations’ websites and by entering the Contest, you agree to the Stations’ respective Web Site Terms of Use Agreement and to the use of your personal information as described in the respective Privacy Policy located at: www.wpgc.com and www.wjfk.com.
